# Contacts Pro Limits

This page explains the limits that apply to Contacts Pro in Microsoft Teams: how many contacts each plan can manage, how much text each field accepts, and which features need a Premium or Platinum license. Use it to plan the right subscription for your team and to understand what happens when different plans share the same Contacts Pro instance.

Import and export require Premium. Permissions, the Power Automate connector, and the API require Platinum.

# Contact capacity by plan

Contacts Pro is a shared address book, so every member of the channel or chat works with the same set of contacts. The number of contacts you can view, add, edit, and search depends on the highest plan active on that instance.

When a Contacts Pro instance holds more contacts than a lower plan allows, users on that lower plan can still browse the contacts within their limit but cannot add new ones until the instance is upgraded. Only a user on the plan that raised the limit can keep adding beyond it. The app shows an upgrade prompt when the limit is reached.

The exact Premium contact cap is set by your subscription and enforced by the service, so it can change. The free tier shows the first 100 contacts.

# Field length limits

Each contact and group field accepts up to a fixed number of characters.

Field Maximum length
Text fields (full name, job title, company, department, address) 100 characters
Web and social links (website, LinkedIn, Facebook, X) 500 characters
Notes 1,500 characters
Group name 100 characters
Phone and fax numbers 20 characters
You can search across the full name, job title, company, department, notes, groups, and address of every contact you can access.
