# Agent Control Pro Tutorials
Step-by-step walkthroughs for the recurring work of governing Copilot agents. Each tutorial assumes you have already completed the Get Started guide.
# Tutorial: run your monthly governance ritual
Agent Control Pro answers from the reports you upload, so its recommendations are only as fresh as your last upload. This tutorial turns that into a 15-minute routine you can run on the same day each month.
What you need:
- An active Agent Control Pro subscription or free trial
- A Microsoft Agent 365 license for the administrator running the review
- Tenant administrator access to the Microsoft 365 admin center and the Power Platform admin center
# Step 1: refresh the usage report
Adoption answers such as top agents, org-wide candidates, and dormant agents come from the Microsoft 365 Copilot usage report.
- 1
Export the Copilot usage report
- Open the Microsoft 365 admin center.
- Go to Reports, then Usage, then Microsoft 365 Copilot, then Agents.
- Export the report as CSV.
- 2
Upload it to Agent Control Pro
- Sign in to your tenant's Agent Control Pro portal with an administrator account.
- Open the usage report upload page and upload the CSV.
The confirmation shows the upload timestamp and the number of rows ingested. The latest upload replaces the previous one.
# Step 2: refresh the billing report
Cost answers come from the Power Platform consumption report. Without it, Agent Control Pro tells you the report is missing instead of guessing.
- 1
Export the Power Platform consumption report
- Open the Power Platform admin center.
- Go to Billing, then Licenses.
- Export the Entitlement consumption - per agent details report as CSV.
- 2
Upload it to Agent Control Pro
- In the Agent Control Pro portal, open Upload billing report.
- Select the CSV and click Upload and replace.
Only
.csvfiles are accepted, and the page shows the maximum file size. Each upload replaces the previous billing report.
# Step 3: review and decide
- 1
Confirm both reports are fresh
- Open the report page in the admin portal.
- Check the Usage report tab, then the Billing report tab.
- 2
Ask the six conversation starters
- Open Microsoft 365 Copilot, go to Copilot Agents, and select Agent Control Pro.
- Click each of the six built-in conversation starters in turn and note what changed since last month.
- 3
Record the decisions
- Write down which agents you will promote, consolidate, or retire, and who owns each action.
Agent Control Pro is read-only. You carry out every action in the native Microsoft 365 admin tools.
The six built-in starters give you a full pass over the tenant:
| Starter | What it answers |
|---|---|
| 🗂️ Top Agent Builder agents | The most-used agents authored in Agent Builder |
| 🔍 Find overlapping agents | Common themes and potential duplicates |
| 💸 Cost vs adoption | Which agents cost the most but have the least adoption |
| 🔀 Consolidation candidates | Shared-link agents ready to become one org-wide agent |
| 🌐 Org-wide candidates | Shared agents with broad enough adoption to promote tenant-wide |
| 💤 Unused agents | Catalog agents with no usage in the last 30 days |
