# Agent Control Pro Get Started Guide
Welcome to Agent Control Pro, the Copilot governance assistant for Microsoft 365 Copilot. This guide walks you through starting a free trial, purchasing the offer, checking your subscription, uploading your first reports, and asking your first governance question. 🛡️
# What is Agent Control Pro?
Agent Control Pro helps IT administrators discover, classify, and govern every Copilot agent in their tenant, directly inside Microsoft 365 Copilot, through plain-English questions. It answers with KPIs, duplicate findings, org-wide promotion candidates, adoption analytics, and cost analytics.
Agent Control Pro is read-only. It surfaces ranked recommendations and answers governance questions; you decide and act in the native Microsoft 365 admin tools.
# Prerequisites
- Microsoft Agent 365 license for every user who calls Agent Control Pro (per user, not tenant-wide)
- Active Microsoft 365 Copilot license
- Tenant administrator access, to grant admin consent and upload reports
- Ability to export the Microsoft 365 Copilot usage report from the Microsoft 365 admin center
- Microsoft Graph delegated permissions:
User.Read,CopilotPackages.Read.All
# Start a free trial
You do not need to buy anything to evaluate Agent Control Pro. When you sign in to the portal from a tenant with no active subscription, you land on the Free trial page, where one click starts a 7-day trial for your whole tenant.
The page shows you what you get before you commit: the full admin UI for your tenant, the Agent Control Pro agent in Copilot Chat backed by the live governance endpoint, duplicate detection, adoption ranking, and the governance reporting skill, all against your own tenant data and stored under your tenant identifier only.
- 1
Sign in to the Agent Control Pro portal
- Go to agentcontrol.teams-pro.com.
- Sign in with your Microsoft 365 work account.
Use an account with tenant administrator rights, so you can grant consent and upload reports during the trial.
- 2
Open the Free trial page
- If your tenant has no active subscription, the portal takes you straight to the Free trial page.
- Review what the trial includes and where it stops.
You can also reach it from Subscription status: a tenant with no subscription sees a Start a free trial button there.
- 3
Start the trial
- Click Start my 7-day free trial.
- The trial activates immediately for your whole tenant, and you land on the portal Get started page.
No credit card, no AppSource purchase, and nothing to cancel. Access ends automatically after seven days.
- 4
Finish onboarding from Get started
- Assign a Microsoft Agent 365 license to each admin in your test cohort.
- Download the agent package, then upload it in the Microsoft 365 admin center under Settings, Integrated apps, Upload custom apps, scoped to that cohort.
- Upload your Microsoft 365 Copilot agent usage report, then ask your first question from Copilot Chat.
Keep the package scoped to a test cohort by group or user until you have validated it, rather than publishing it to everyone.
This path involves no AppSource purchase, no credit card, and no Microsoft Commercial Marketplace step. The trial subscription is created locally for your tenant, access ends automatically after seven days, and each tenant can start one trial. Once a trial has ended, the same page shows the date it ended and points you to AppSource to subscribe; your uploaded reports and settings are kept in the meantime.
# Set up Agent Control Pro
When you are ready to move past the trial, purchase Agent Control Pro on Microsoft AppSource.
- 1
Purchase Agent Control Pro on AppSource
- Open the Agent Control Pro listing on Microsoft AppSource (Microsoft Commercial Marketplace).
- Purchase the subscription as a tenant administrator.
Agent Control Pro is delivered as a Microsoft 365 Copilot declarative agent backed by a remote MCP server, so there is nothing to deploy in your tenant.
- 2
Activate your subscription
- You are redirected to the Agent Control Pro landing page.
- Click Activate.
- 3
Grant admin consent
- Grant admin consent to the Agent Control Pro Entra application for your tenant.
- The agent becomes available in Microsoft 365 Copilot for authorized users.
Consent is granted once for the whole tenant, so individual users are never prompted themselves.
# Access Agent Control Pro
- 1
Open Microsoft 365 Copilot.
- 2
Go to Copilot Agents.
- 3
Select Agent Control Pro.
- 4
Click a built-in conversation starter, or ask a freeform governance question.
# Key capabilities
# Check your subscription status
Your tenant's Agent Control Pro portal includes a Subscription status page showing a live snapshot of your plan, whether it comes from a Microsoft Commercial Marketplace purchase or from a self-service trial:
- Current plan: the plan you purchased, the offer identifier, and when the subscription was last updated
- State badge:
Subscribed,Suspended, orUnsubscribed(a pending state is shown while activation is completing) - Trial countdown: if you are on a free trial, a Trial badge plus the trial end date and the number of days remaining
- Subscription details: subscription ID, purchaser email, and creation date
Sign in with your Microsoft 365 administrator account to see the snapshot. If your tenant has no subscription yet, the page explains that Agent Control Pro is licensed per tenant through the Microsoft Commercial Marketplace, and offers a Start a free trial button so you can evaluate it first.
# Upload your first usage report
To unlock adoption-aware answers such as top agents, active duplicates, and org-wide candidates, upload your Microsoft 365 Copilot usage report. Without it, Agent Control Pro answers from catalog metadata alone and tells you the upload is required for adoption ranking.
- 1
Export the report from Microsoft 365
- Go to the Microsoft 365 admin center.
- Open Reports, then Usage, then Microsoft 365 Copilot, then Agents.
- Export the report as CSV.
- 2
Upload it to Agent Control Pro
- Open your tenant's Agent Control Pro admin portal (linked from your Microsoft Marketplace subscription).
- Sign in with your administrator account and upload the CSV.
You will see a confirmation showing the upload timestamp and the number of rows ingested. The latest upload replaces the previous one, so re-upload regularly to keep recommendations fresh.
# Upload your billing report
To unlock cost answers such as spend per agent, the Cost vs adoption starter, and tenant-wide FinOps rollups, upload your Power Platform entitlement consumption report.
- 1
Export the consumption report
- Open the Power Platform admin center.
- Go to Billing, then Licenses.
- Export the Entitlement consumption - per agent details report as a CSV file.
If your tenant surfaces it differently, your Copilot Studio capacity report contains the same per-agent consumption rows.
- 2
Upload it to Agent Control Pro
- In the Agent Control Pro admin portal, open Upload billing.
- Select your file, then click Upload and replace.
Only
.csvfiles are accepted, and the upload page states the maximum file size for your tenant. Each upload replaces the previous billing report. Cost answers are reported in the report's native credits, with no currency conversion applied.
# Ask your first question
Open Agent Control Pro in Microsoft 365 Copilot and click any of the built-in conversation starters:
- 🗂️ Top Agent Builder agents: most-used agents authored in Agent Builder
- 🔍 Find overlapping agents: common themes and potential duplicates
- 💸 Cost vs adoption: agents that cost the most in credits while having the least adoption
- 🔀 Consolidation candidates: shared-link agents ready to become single org-wide replacements
- 🌐 Org-wide candidates: shared agents with broad enough adoption (50 or more active users) for tenant-wide promotion
- 💤 Unused agents: dormant agents in the catalog with zero usage in the last 30 days
Duplicate detection is not a starter, but it is one question away. Ask "Show me duplicate agents where both copies have active users" to get the same active-duplicate findings, or start from Find overlapping agents and drill in.
You can also ask freeform governance questions, for example "Which agents has the finance team built?", "Show me sideloaded agents older than six months", or "Why did you flag this duplicate?"
Catalog answers render as an interactive Fluent 2 carousel of agent cards inside Copilot Chat; click any card to open that agent's detail view without typing a follow-up. Every answer closes with an "Acting on this in Microsoft Agent 365" section pointing you to the admin surface where you can act.
# Use Agent Control Pro beyond Copilot Chat
Agent Control Pro is also registered as a host-agnostic agent connector, so the same catalog and usage tools are available in Microsoft 365 Copilot Cowork and the Teams Channel Agent. In Cowork, ask "Give me a governance report on our Copilot agents" to get a full written governance report: inventory by build type, adoption highlights, duplicate findings, org-wide promotion candidates, retirement candidates, and prioritized recommendations.
# What Agent Control Pro does not do
- It does not modify, retire, or delete agents. Every recommendation is read-only; you act in the Microsoft 365 admin center.
- It does not read the content of Copilot conversations, prompts, or responses.
- It does not train any AI or machine-learning model on your data.
- It does not access another tenant's data. Every record is hard-isolated by tenant identifier.
- It does not require per-user role configuration. Any authenticated administrator in a consented tenant sees the same governance view.
