# KeePass Pro Limits
Knowing what KeePass Pro can and cannot do helps you plan your setup. These limits keep vaults fast, secure, and reliable for every team. This page covers technical and plan limits. For the shorter conceptual list, see the Limitations page.
# Platform
- Microsoft Teams only: KeePass Pro runs inside Microsoft Teams so your team collaborates in one place. Each vault is stored as an encrypted KDBX file in SharePoint or OneDrive.
# Private channels
- Not supported in private channels: KeePass Pro cannot be added to a private channel because private channels do not have full access to the SharePoint resources that hold the vault. Use standard channels for full functionality.
# Items on the Free plan
- On the Free plan you can store up to 3 items in a shared vault. Both active items and items still in the recycle bin count toward this limit.
- To store more items, upgrade to Premium for unlimited items.
Unlimited items, pinned favorites, and password history are available on the Premium and Platinum plans.
# Recycle bin retention
- Automatic cleanup: items left in a vault recycle bin are permanently deleted after 7 days. Restore an item before then if you still need it.
# Password generator
- The generator produces passwords from 10 to 100 characters long, drawn from the character sets you enable.
# Access and permissions
- External users cannot access a vault unless they are explicitly added with the right permissions and can reach the SharePoint or OneDrive location that stores it.
- Folder-level permissions and folder administration require the Owner role and the Platinum plan.
