# Map Pro Q&A
Quick answers to the questions teams ask most about Map Pro. If you are just setting up the app, start with the Map Pro Get Started guide.
# Pricing and licensing
# Does Map Pro have a Premium tier?
Yes. Map Pro has two tiers: a Free version and a Premium version. There is no Platinum tier for Map Pro. The app shows an "Available in Premium" prompt when you reach a Free limit and an option to upgrade to Premium.
# What is the difference between Free and Premium?
The Free version lets you add a limited number of places and trips. When you need to add more, Map Pro prompts you to upgrade to Premium, which raises that limit. Both versions include the same map, Places, Trips, and view modes.
# Where do I buy or manage my subscription?
In the Teams-Pro Admin Center (opens new window), where you handle billing, seats, invoices, and cancel or reactivate your plan.
# Features and usage
# What can I add to a map?
Two kinds of items:
- Places: a point on the map with a Title, an Address, and an optional Description.
- Trips: a route between two points, with a Type, a Title, a From location, a To location, and an optional Description.
# What trip types are available?
You can set a trip's Type to Car, Train, Foot, or Bicycle. The type determines how the route is drawn between the From and To locations.
# What view modes does Map Pro have?
Two view modes: Map and Satellite. Switch between them from the buttons at the top left of the map.
# Can I connect Map Pro with Calendar Pro or Contacts Pro?
Yes. You can link Calendar Pro and Contacts Pro and display their items on the map. Open the 3 dots menu, select Connect, choose the app, paste the source tab's unique identifier (ID), and click Save. You can connect up to 3 Calendar Pro tabs and up to 3 Contacts Pro tabs.
# Can I hide items on the map?
Yes. Map Pro includes Display all the places and Display all the trips toggles, so you can show or hide each item type on the map.
# Permissions
# Does Map Pro have permission roles?
No. Map Pro does not have dedicated permission roles or owner-only modes. Anyone who can open the Teams tab where Map Pro is installed can view and edit its places and trips. Access is therefore governed by your Microsoft Teams channel and tab membership.
# Do we need an admin to set it up?
Yes. Map Pro requires tenant admin consent before it can run. Without that consent, users are blocked from continuing.
# Are your apps restricted for external users?
Not by default. Access for guests and external users depends on your Microsoft 365 external collaboration policies in Teams.
# Data and compliance
# Where is my data stored, and is it GDPR-compliant?
Map Pro runs inside your Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Teams environment. The Teams Pro suite states GDPR compliance, and its services are hosted in the EU (Ireland) on Microsoft Azure.
# Can I recover a Map Pro tab after deleting it?
No. Deleting a Map Pro tab is permanent.
# How do I keep the app but stop paying for Premium?
You do not need to delete the tab to drop Premium. Move the tab back to the Free version through the Teams-Pro Admin Center (opens new window) and keep using it with the Free limits.
# Troubleshooting and support
# My app or tab is not opening in Teams (the title shows but it will not open, or it is missing on mobile).
This usually stems from tenant policies. Ask your IT team to check:
- App registration disabled
- Enterprise application disabled
- A new or changed Conditional Access policy
- Admin consent revoked
- A tenant-wide setting disabled
# My map shows "This map has been deleted." What happened?
That message means the underlying Map Pro tab was removed. Because deletion is permanent, the map and its data cannot be restored. Set up a new Map Pro tab to start again.
# Map Pro is not working. What should I send to support to speed things up?
