# Colors, filters, and sorting in Gantt Chart Pro
Color tasks for visual grouping, filter the timeline to focus on a subset of work, and sort columns to put your plan in the order that makes sense for a review. Use these three tools together in Gantt Chart Pro for Microsoft Teams to keep a large plan readable and to run quick status meetings.
# Color a task
Give each task a color so your team can tell projects, phases, or owners apart at a glance.
- 1
Open the Gantt Chart Pro tab and find the Color cell on the task row you want to change.
- 2
Click the cell to open the color picker, then choose a color.
- 3
The color is saved and applies for everyone viewing the tab.
If the picker does not save, reload the tab and try again.

# Filter tasks
Narrow the Gantt chart to the tasks that match a condition so you can concentrate on what matters for a specific review.
- 1
Open the column header menu (the small menu icon on a column such as Name, Start, or End).
- 2
Choose Filter and set a condition, for example a participant, status, or date range.
- 3
The Gantt chart shows only the tasks that match. Clear the filter to see everything again.

# Sort columns
Reorder the task rows to read your plan in chronological order or to group a person's work together.
- 1
Click a sortable column header, such as Name, Start, or End, to reorder the rows by that column.
- 2
Click again to switch between ascending and descending order.
You can also open the column header menu and choose to sort ascending or descending.
# Common questions
# Do colors appear for everyone?
Yes. A task color is shared on the tab, so every member of the channel sees the same colors.
# Why can I sort but not filter?
Sorting works on all plans, while filtering is a Premium feature. If the Filter option prompts you to upgrade, you are on the Free plan.
